Senior Excess Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Underwriter (Excess).

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate applications for excess insurance, determining acceptance or declination based on underwriting guidelines
• Approve or decline insurance applications and issue coverage, preparing referrals for risks exceeding authority limits
• Document underwriting files and provide recommendations to clients to reduce exposure to excessive risk

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 5 years of Excess underwriting or related insurance experience
• Experience underwriting risk for construction, hospitality, real estate, and manufacturing classes
• CPCU, CIC, CRIS, or Property & Casualty Brokers License preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software quickly
