Senior Excess Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Underwriter (Excess).

Key Responsibilities

• Review applications for excess insurance and evaluate risks to determine coverage acceptance or decline
• Approve or decline applications, issue coverage, and prepare referrals for risks exceeding authority limits
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain accurate documentation of underwriting files

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 5 years of Excess underwriting or related insurance experience
• Experience underwriting risks in construction, hospitality, real estate, and manufacturing sectors
• Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or CRIS are a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software quickly
