Senior Finance Operations Manager

Job Summary

To strengthen financial operations and controls within a complex research environment, the full-time Senior Finance Operations Manager will manage finance processes, support budget planning and compliance, and provide guidance to decentralized finance teams, utilizing expertise in enterprise finance systems and research administration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement finance operations processes, controls, and quality checks to ensure accurate financial activity
• Lead budget planning, variance analysis, and prepare decision-support materials for management review
• Support research administration through financial analysis, compliance documentation, and issue escalation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field with at least seven years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated expertise in financial operations, budgeting, and internal controls
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems and reporting tools
• Strong judgment and organizational skills to manage multiple transactions and stakeholder communications
• Experience in higher education, research administration, or similarly complex environments
