Senior Fisheries Biologist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Fisheries Biologist to support NMFS West Coast Region in evaluating Hatchery and Genetic Management Plans (HGMPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ESA effects analyses for harvest and hatchery management frameworks
• Prepare NEPA documents (EAs/EISs) and evaluate alternative fishery management strategies
• Coordinate with NMFS staff and support implementation of fisheries agreements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of laws related to fishing industry management, including the Magnuson-Stevens Act and the Endangered Species Act
• Experience in preparing NEPA analytical documents such as EAs and EISs
• Technical writing experience in completing analyses and reports on Pacific Northwest anadromous salmon
• Experience performing ESA Section 7, 10, or 4(d) consultations
