Job Summary
A company is looking for a Senior Fisheries Biologist to support NMFS West Coast Region in evaluating Hatchery and Genetic Management Plans (HGMPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ESA effects analyses for harvest and hatchery management frameworks
- Prepare NEPA documents (EAs/EISs) and evaluate alternative fishery management strategies
- Coordinate with NMFS staff and support implementation of fisheries agreements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of laws related to fishing industry management, including the Magnuson-Stevens Act and the Endangered Species Act
- Experience in preparing NEPA analytical documents such as EAs and EISs
- Technical writing experience in completing analyses and reports on Pacific Northwest anadromous salmon
- Experience performing ESA Section 7, 10, or 4(d) consultations
