Senior Forensic Traffic Engineer

Job Summary

Providing expert-level traffic engineering and forensic consulting, the full-time Senior Forensic Traffic Engineer will evaluate roadway design, traffic operations, and safety, while supporting forensic investigations and litigation consulting in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze roadway and traffic design plans for compliance with engineering standards
• Conduct research and evaluate traffic conditions using various data sources to determine safety and efficiency
• Prepare technical reports and serve as a consulting and testifying expert witness in legal proceedings

Required qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of traffic engineering experience, including at least 4 years in forensic traffic investigations
• Active PE & TE licenses (TE license required only for work in CA & OR)
• Proficiency with traffic analysis or simulation software (e.g., Traffic Sim)
• Strong knowledge of DOT standards, MUTCD guidelines, and engineering policy guides
