Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Fuel Handling System Design Engineer will design nuclear fuel handling systems, develop analyses, and provide technical oversight of supplier projects while ensuring adherence to design codes and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design nuclear fuel handling systems and sub-systems from requirements through final design review
- Develop and integrate analyses such as thermal, seismic, and structural into plant design delivery
- Generate design packages and manage drawing packages, including P&IDs and 3D models
Required qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in designing complex mechanical systems, particularly nuclear fuel handling systems
- Experience with 3D modeling and creating design drawings
- Previous experience with nuclear reactors or similar high-performance systems is required
- Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
