Senior Functional Safety Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely from anywhere in the US, the Senior Functional Safety Engineer will deliver functional safety products in accordance with ISO 26262, perform safety analyses, and support cross-functional teams in a contract position.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver functional safety products in compliance with ISO 26262 Part 5
• Perform safety analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), and Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA)
• Support the definition and verification of functional safety requirements and safety metrics

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Systems, or related discipline)
• 6-8 years of experience in Functional Safety
• Strong hands-on experience with ISO 26262 functional safety, particularly Part 5 (Hardware Safety)
• Proven experience performing FTA, DFA, and FMEDA
• Experience calculating reliability metrics and FIT rates based on mission profiles
