Senior Gameplay Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a talented Senior Gameplay Engineer for a full-time, remote contract position lasting 3-6 months, who will engineer and lead complex game development projects, mentor junior engineers, and define engineering standards while delivering high-quality gameplay experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Write and optimize Lua/Luau code for gameplay features, UI, and VFX while reducing technical debt
• Own product features from concept through deployment, ensuring a polished player experience
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and participate in the design process to shape game development

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game development experience
• Experience with Roblox/Luau or traditional game development in areas like character controllers and VFX
• A portfolio showcasing game feel and creative contributions
• Strong personal drive and ability to work across disciplines
• Experience with performance profiling and debugging complex systems in a live environment
