Senior Geospatial Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of an innovative energy intelligence platform, the full-time Senior Geospatial Backend Engineer will design and build the backend architecture, set up a secure database, and create AI-agent workflows, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the backend architecture for the PowerParcel AI MVP
• Set up a secure Supabase/PostgreSQL database with PostGIS and pgvector
• Create initial AI-agent workflows using tools such as LangChain and OpenAI APIs

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience in production environments
• Strong command of FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent Python backend frameworks
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial data modeling
• Demonstrated experience building geospatial or location intelligence data products
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and AI-agent frameworks
