Senior Geospatial Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of an innovative energy intelligence platform, the full-time Senior Geospatial Backend Engineer will design and build the backend architecture, establish a secure database, and create AI-agent workflows while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the backend architecture for the PowerParcel AI MVP
• Set up a secure Supabase/PostgreSQL database with PostGIS for spatial data modeling
• Create initial AI-agent workflows using various LLM tools and integrate backend APIs with the frontend map experience

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience in production environments
• Strong command of FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python backend frameworks
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial data modeling
• Proven track record in building geospatial, mapping, or location intelligence data products
• Experience with LLM APIs and integrating backend services with JavaScript/Leaflet.js frontends
