Senior GIS Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, the full-time Senior GIS Specialist will perform advanced GIS analysis, database design, application development, and technical documentation while working remotely and ensuring availability for onsite support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Conducts systems analysis, design, and implementation for GIS projects
• Prepares user/project setups and maintains GIS application software and databases
• Designs databases, automation processes, and analytical procedures for GIS initiatives

Required qualifications

• BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 7+ years of GIS experience, with at least 3+ years in Python, Arcade, or ModelBuilder
• 3 to 5 years of GIS production experience using ESRI software
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• Completion of relevant ESRI training courses within the last two years may substitute for some experience requirements
