Senior Group Underwriter

Job Summary

Independently underwriting complex Stop Loss insurance applications and renewals, the full-time Senior Group Underwriter will evaluate risks, provide training to junior underwriters, and ensure proper pricing and funding methods while working in a hybrid environment near the Minneapolis, MN location.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide training and guidance to lower-level group underwriters
• Evaluate risk and analyze data to determine benefits and rates for Stop Loss insurance policies
• Contribute to division profitability by assessing client profitability and participating in product development

Required qualifications:

• 4-6 years of underwriting experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in PC applications, including word processing and spreadsheets
• Clinical knowledge of large claims diagnosis is a plus
