Senior Healthcare Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support the VRDC analytics team, the full-time Senior Healthcare Data Engineer will develop and maintain data pipelines for processing healthcare claims and enrollment data, implement business rules, and enhance analytic codebases while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines that process healthcare claims, enrollment, and related administrative data
• Translate technical specifications and business rules into well-structured, maintainable code
• Perform data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation to ensure analytic accuracy

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or a quantitative analyst role with substantial hands-on coding
• Healthcare data experience with Medicare/Medicaid/commercial claims, enrollment files, or pharmacy data
• Strong SQL proficiency with complex joins, window functions, and conditional aggregation
• Programming experience in Python, SAS, or both, with a willingness to work across languages
• Experience processing large datasets and understanding performance considerations at scale
