Senior Home Loan Underwriter
Job Summary
Providing mentorship and analyzing home loan lending decisions, the full-time Senior Home Loan Underwriter will work remotely, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and supporting the underwriting team while meeting production goals.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and render lending decisions based on home loan underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards
- Review and validate borrower documentation to determine eligibility and repayment ability
- Mentor and support loan officers and other underwriters, contributing to team projects and initiatives
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of independent mortgage underwriting experience required
- Preferred certifications include MBA Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) and FHA Direct Endorsement (DE)
- Experience with loan origination software and AUS systems required; knowledge of Encompass preferred
- Strong understanding of compliance policies and procedures related to mortgage underwriting
