Senior Hospitalist Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr. Hospitalist Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with training and education for the Coding department staff and new coding trainees
• Provide feedback and guidance to trainees on their completed work and coding duties
• Monitor trainee progress and maintain documentation of training outcomes and coder production

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in ICD-10 diagnostic coding and CPT procedural coding
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, regulatory requirements, and physician billing
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in physician coding and billing
• RHIT, CPC and/or CCS-P certification or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of previous medical coding experience, acute care coding preferred
