Senior Hospitalist Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr. Hospitalist Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with training and education for the Coding department staff and new coding trainees
• Provide feedback and guidance to trainees on their work and coding procedures
• Monitor and report on trainee progress, ensuring adherence to coding policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in ICD-10 diagnostic coding and CPT procedural coding
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and physician billing and reimbursement
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with experience in physician coding and billing
• RHIT, CPC and/or CCS-P certification or equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years of previous medical coding experience, preferably in acute care coding
