Senior HPC Applications Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the software stack and user experience, the full-time remote Senior HPC Applications Engineer will support scientific and AI application users, manage software compilation, enable AI and ML workloads, and provide user support across various computing environments.
Key responsibilities
- Compile and package MPI implementations, compilers, and scientific libraries for user navigation
- Install AI and ML frameworks, troubleshoot multi-node GPU launches, and diagnose underlying issues
- Triage support tickets, diagnose job failures, and document solutions for user communities
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience supporting scientific or AI application users on Linux HPC systems
- Proficiency in building complex software from source on RHEL and Debian/Ubuntu systems
- Experience with Spack or EasyBuild and Lmod in a production environment
- Familiarity with multi-node GPU workloads and the ability to distinguish framework issues from environment problems
- Working knowledge of at least one application domain such as weather and climate or molecular science
