Senior IBM Netcool Engineer

Job Summary

Working in a hybrid/remote capacity, the full-time Senior IBM Netcool/Omnibus Engineer will optimize and maintain enterprise event management systems, drive migration and deployment projects, and ensure seamless integration with various monitoring and ITSM platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer IBM Netcool/Omnibus infrastructure for enterprise-wide event management
• Develop ObjectServer configurations, triggers, automation, and event correlation rules to enhance incident response
• Maintain and optimize Linux (RHEL) systems hosting Omnibus components and manage backend Oracle databases

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering IBM Netcool/Omnibus (ObjectServer, Probes, Gateways)
• Strong knowledge of Netcool architecture and proven Linux (RHEL) administration skills
• Experience with Oracle database management, SQL reporting, and PHP scripting
• Scripting expertise in Bash, Python, PHP, or Perl
• Deep understanding of event correlation and ITIL-aligned event management practices
