Senior Incident Response Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Incident Response Engineer will lead incident response efforts, manage communications with executive leadership, and drive continuous improvement in incident management practices.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage incident response efforts, including triage, escalation, and resolution coordination
• Communicate incident status, business impact, and outcomes to senior leadership, including VP stakeholders
• Support and improve post-incident review (PIR) and postmortem processes while identifying opportunities for automation and AI integration

Required qualifications:

• Extensive experience in senior-level incident management within enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of problem records, post-incident reviews (PIR), and postmortems
• Proficiency with collaboration and incident tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and incident management platforms
• Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or Claude in operational workflows
• Proven ability to produce executive-level reporting and communicate with senior stakeholders
