Senior Information Security Engineer

Job Summary

As a senior technical leader within the Information Security team, the full-time remote Senior Information Security Engineer will design, implement, and operate security controls to protect sensitive patient genomic and health information, while leading operational security initiatives and providing technical mentorship to other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and operate detection and response capabilities, including SIEM/MDR and EDR/XDR, while tuning detections with organization-specific policies
• Establish and mature a risk-based vulnerability management program with enforced patch SLAs and remediation of penetration test findings
• Design and implement identity and access security controls, advancing the Zero Trust roadmap across various environments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 6-8 years of experience in information security engineering or security operations
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM/MDR and EDR platforms, and security event monitoring
• Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and authentication principles
• Experience with cloud security (Azure and/or AWS) and compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare data
