Senior Information System Security Specialist
Job Summary
Providing program management and technical cybersecurity support, the full-time Senior Information System Security Specialist will plan, implement, and monitor cybersecurity activities for the Department of Transportation (DOT) while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and risk registers to ensure alignment with task-order requirements
- Coordinate and oversee program activities, including staffing, finances, and deliverables, from initiation through completion
- Provide cybersecurity subject-matter expertise in incident handling, vulnerability detection, and secure application development
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a related technical field
- Current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
- Current Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge or Microsoft Azure certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and PMBOK practices
- At least three years of experience in contingency planning and backup/recovery best practices
