Job Summary
Providing expert leadership in health information exchange architectures, the full-time Senior Interoperability Architect will design, implement, and optimize interoperability solutions across VA/VHA systems and federal partners, ensuring secure data exchange and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise interoperability architectures, including HL7, FHIR APIs, and eHealth Exchange frameworks
- Conduct technical assessments and gap analyses to recommend strategies that align with PWS goals and regulatory standards
- Oversee the development, configuration, testing, and deployment of interoperable solutions while troubleshooting complex production issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field (Master's preferred for BPA1)
- 8-12+ years of experience in health IT interoperability architecture, preferably within VA/VHA or federal healthcare environments
- Deep expertise in EHR systems, API management, cloud technologies, and interoperability standards/tools
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, SAFe (Architect/Agilist), or HL7/FHIR are highly desired
- Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and delivering high-quality solutions under federal contract requirements
