Senior IP Attorney (State Licensed)

Job Summary

To support a growing IP legal team, the full-time Senior IP Attorney (State Licensed) will manage complex intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management, trademark counseling, and copyright guidance, while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead patent portfolio management activities, including invention disclosure harvesting, patent application drafting, and strategic decision-making
• Provide trademark counseling and support for trademark prosecution, enforcement, and brand protection initiatives
• Draft and negotiate various IP-related agreements and provide guidance on copyright topics and related legal issues

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school; active license to practice in at least one U.S. state; USPTO registration required
• 6+ years of broad intellectual property experience, including patent drafting and prosecution, trademarks, and IP agreements
• Bachelor's degree with a technical background aligned to relevant technologies (e.g., electrification, industrial systems, robotics, or automation)
• Demonstrated experience in patent portfolio management and drafting/negotiating complex IP agreements
• Proven ability to collaborate with senior business and technical leaders and deliver actionable IP strategies
