Senior ISSO Security Analyst

Job Summary

To support Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) cybersecurity initiatives, the fully remote Senior ISSO Security Analyst will lead Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements while serving as a trusted advisor to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate RMF Steps 0-6 activities and support the authorization lifecycle for information systems
• Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including System Security Plans and Security Assessment Reports
• Identify cybersecurity risks and provide expert recommendations to ensure secure deployment of enterprise IT systems

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field with 10+ years of IT experience, or 18+ years of IT experience in lieu of a degree
• Extensive experience supporting all RMF lifecycle activities and maintaining FISMA security documentation
• Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to lead client-facing meetings and present complex cybersecurity topics
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust Clearance
