Senior Java API Engineer

Job Summary

To support and enhance a REST-based API platform, the contract-to-hire Senior Java API Engineer will work remotely to maintain and develop Java-based backend features for mobile applications, ensuring system reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Java-based REST APIs for iOS and Android mobile applications
• Develop new backend features and integrations while ensuring system reliability and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java backend development
• Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs in production environments
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications, preferably in Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience with the Micronaut framework or similar modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot
