Senior Java Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing health technology platform, the full-time Senior Java Backend Engineer will architect and develop high-performance Java backend services while collaborating on client-side integrations and ensuring secure API delivery in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and scale core Java backend services for the platform ecosystem
- Collaborate on frontend development by maintaining JavaScript components and client-side integrations
- Build and operate enterprise integration services for EMRs utilizing HL7 FHIR APIs
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in building and operating production software with ownership of distributed systems
- Expert-level skills in Java and modern Java frameworks (Quarkus or Spring Boot)
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern client-side architectures
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
