Senior Java Developer

Job Summary

To support a mission-critical initiative, the remote contract Senior Java Application Developer will design, develop, and enhance complex software applications that integrate distributed systems with Navy Federal Credit Union's Core Banking platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-quality software applications using advanced programming languages and frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring timely task completion
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code while conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to maintain a high-quality codebase

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience in application or software development
• Advanced proficiency in Java, XML, OpenAPI, Maven, and ANT, with strong knowledge of modern frameworks
• Deep understanding of web technologies and experience in designing scalable solutions
• Expertise in data structures and algorithms, with a focus on performance optimization in application design
