Senior Kubernetes Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Kubernetes Engineer will design, operate, and enhance production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS while ensuring reliability and security for a large federal enterprise cloud platform.

Key responsibilities:

• Designing, operating, and upgrading production Kubernetes clusters, including managing cluster lifecycle and scaling
• Automating cluster provisioning and configuration using infrastructure as code, primarily with Terraform
• Mentoring engineers and presenting design documents to stakeholders while participating in technical interviews

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education
• Expert-level experience operating Kubernetes in production, preferably Amazon EKS
• Proficiency in at least one infrastructure-as-code tool, with a preference for Terraform
• Strong understanding of containerization, networking, and core DevOps concepts
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust / suitability determination
