Senior Legal Counsel - NY Licensed

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel - Finance/Insurance for a temporary contract position, remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, corporate transactions, governance, litigation, regulatory, and compliance issues
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, distribution, and third-party agreements
• Manage litigation and disputes, including strategy, risk assessment, and oversight of outside counsel

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in the life insurance/annuity, broker/dealer, or related industry
• Strong knowledge of annuities, life insurance, and consumer financial products
• Experience in a large multinational law firm and/or in-house legal department
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar (preferably NY, TX, or CA)
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to manage and execute projects effectively
