Senior Library Information Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting a federal intelligence information center, the full-time Senior Library Information Specialist (Persian/Farsi) will manage specialized research, collection development, and information services while working in a hybrid remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced Persian/Farsi-language research using commercial and publicly available resources to fulfill Government research requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and acquire Persian/Farsi-language scientific and technical publications, while monitoring emerging relevant publications
• Create and maintain descriptive metadata for the Library's Content Management System and assist with cataloging foreign-language materials

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Near-native proficiency in reading and writing Persian/Farsi, with the ability to translate or summarize technical publications in English
• Demonstrated understanding of Persian/Farsi social, political, scientific, and cultural environments
• Proficiency using commercial and open-source research databases and digital information resources
