Senior Library Information Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting a federal intelligence information center, the full-time Senior Library Information Specialist will conduct advanced Chinese-language research, manage acquisitions of relevant publications, and provide information services, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced Chinese-language research using commercial and publicly available information resources to support Government research requirements
• Identify, evaluate, and acquire Chinese-language scientific and technical publications, including books, journals, and digital resources
• Create and maintain descriptive metadata for Chinese-language materials and assist with cataloging foreign-language resources

Required qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Near-native proficiency in reading and writing Simplified and Traditional Chinese
• Demonstrated understanding of Chinese social, political, scientific, and cultural environments
• Proficiency using commercial and open-source research databases and digital information resources
