Senior Life Underwriter

Job Summary

Bringing expertise and judgment to the role, the full-time Senior Life Underwriter will review individual life insurance applications, assess risks, and communicate decisions while working remotely and fostering relationships with internal partners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver thoughtful underwriting decisions by reviewing applications and assessing risks in line with company guidelines
• Build trusted relationships through clear communication of underwriting decisions and by educating agents and partners
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and participating in initiatives that drive innovation

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience
• Strong underwriting judgment and analytical skills
• Experience in coaching and mentoring others is a plus
• Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• College degree preferred; high school diploma required
