Senior Life Underwriter

Job Summary

Experienced life insurance underwriters will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Senior Life Underwriter, responsible for evaluating risks, making underwriting decisions, and improving processes while collaborating with team members.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and apply underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Evaluate individual medical histories, occupational hazards, and financial backgrounds to determine risk acceptance
• Communicate underwriting decisions effectively and champion process improvements

Required qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Life/Health Insurance
• Preferred 4-year degree and industry designations (e.g., LOMA, ALMI, FMLI, ALU, FALU)
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk selection and underwriting rules engines
• Experience with term and permanent life insurance underwriting
• Growth mindset with the ability to think critically and work independently
