Senior Life Underwriter
Job Summary
To support a team focused on complex individual life insurance cases, the full-time remote Senior Life Underwriter will underwrite high-impact cases, provide expert evaluations, and mentor junior underwriters while ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite highly complex individual life cases with significant mortality and financial impact
- Review and approve underwriting decisions made by other underwriters, ensuring compliance with guidelines
- Partner closely with agents and brokers to communicate underwriting decisions and build strong relationships
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of life underwriting experience, including impaired risks and large case underwriting
- Completion of LOMA 280/281, 290, 311, 386, and ALU 101 & 201 (or equivalent knowledge)
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to make sound underwriting decisions
- Experience working under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and compliance
- High level of independence and accountability with strong organizational skills
