Job Summary
Collaborating with internal and external case underwriters, the remote Senior Life Underwriter will perform line underwriting on individual term life cases, analyzing medical and financial data to make informed risk decisions while managing application review volumes within quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform line underwriting on individual term life cases, evaluating applications up to $8 million face amount
- Analyze medical, non-medical, and financial data to make well-documented risk decisions
- Collaborate with external underwriters and internal teams to address underwriting-related inquiries and enhance knowledge sharing
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of life insurance underwriting experience at a leading carrier or reinsurer
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to enhance user experience
- Proven experience as a line underwriter with sound judgment on individual term life cases
- Adaptability to the underwriting philosophy of an innovative environment
- Strong communication skills with a focus on listening and engagement
