Senior Life Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

To support the Large Case and High-Net-Worth Foreign National Team, the full-time Senior Life Underwriting Consultant will assess complex mortality risks, deliver thoughtful underwriting decisions, and build trusted relationships with internal partners while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review individual life insurance applications for high-net-worth and foreign national clients, assessing medical and non-medical risks
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and foster strong relationships to support long-term growth
• Serve as a mentor for fellow underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting process

Required qualifications

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in life underwriting
• Strong technical and financial underwriting skills, including mastery of underwriting principles and insurance medicine
• Ability to manage large caseloads while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
• College degree preferred; CLU, FALU, and/or FLMI designations are a plus
• Proven analytical skills and strong interpersonal abilities for effective communication and negotiation
