Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer for a remote contract position, who will manage the design, administration, and troubleshooting of large-scale Linux infrastructure with a focus on bare metal servers and enterprise storage.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot expert-level Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu, while ensuring optimal performance of bare metal server deployments
• Design and manage enterprise Linux infrastructure, including advanced storage solutions such as LVM, NFS, and Ceph
• Implement and maintain high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies across the infrastructure

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in traditional Linux administration, specifically with bare metal infrastructure
• Strong understanding of server hardware components and troubleshooting techniques
• Proficiency in advanced Linux storage administration and Ceph cluster management
• Solid networking knowledge, including VLANs, routing, and DNS
• Experience with Bash and Python scripting for automation tasks
