Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Senior Linux Kernel Engineer, the successful candidate will design, optimize, and maintain the open-source hfi1 kernel driver and high-performance user-space Omni-Path Express (OPX) libfabric provider, collaborating with hardware engineers and the open-source community to achieve low-latency, high-throughput solutions for HPC and AI applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design & Optimize Device Drivers: Develop and maintain the open-source hfi1 kernel driver and related subsystems
  • Hardware-Software Co-Design: Collaborate with silicon architects to define interfaces and hardware-software contracts
  • Develop Zero-Copy Data Paths: Create low-latency DMA and RDMA transport engines to enhance performance
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Kernel-Space Mastery: 3+ years of experience writing production-grade C code in the Linux kernel
  • High-Speed Networking Protocol Knowledge: Experience with RDMA, InfiniBand Verbs, or high-performance user-space frameworks
  • Hardware Interface Fundamentals: Strong understanding of PCIe architectures and DMA engines
  • Advanced Kernel Debugging: Proficiency with kernel analysis tools and debugging techniques
