Senior Linux System Engineer
Job Summary
Experienced in Linux system administration, the full-time Senior Linux System Engineer will manage and optimize Linux-based hosting environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop automation scripts while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the final escalation point for complex server and network-related issues, diagnosing and resolving critical system failures
- Manage, optimize, and secure Linux-based hosting environments, administering web servers and databases while building and deploying servers
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for server provisioning and utilize tools for automating infrastructure deployments
Required qualifications
- 11+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in a web hosting or cloud environment
- 7+ years of experience in a Senior position or Level 3 Engineer role
- Expert knowledge of KVM and Libvirt with a minimum of 7+ years of experience
- Strong scripting ability in Perl, Bash, and Python
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
