Senior Live Streaming Engineer

Job Summary

To support the delivery of tens of thousands of live events annually, the full-time Senior Live Streaming Engineer will design, build, and operate the live streaming platform, ensuring broadcast-grade reliability and performance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and continuously improve the live broadcast video pipeline, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Monitor stream health and viewer quality of experience, developing necessary tooling and alerting systems
• Build and maintain backend microservices using Node.js/NestJS and/or Go, while writing and executing unit and integration tests

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating live broadcast video at scale, including multi-event contribution and delivery
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js and/or Go, with a strong understanding of language features and design patterns
• Experience with SQL databases and building RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with live streaming transport protocols such as SRT, RTMP, and WebRTC
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and CI/CD pipelines
