Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architectural evolution of safety systems, the remote Senior Machine Learning Engineer will design and implement a unified Perception Platform Layer, ensuring reliable model performance across cloud and edge environments while managing end-to-end latency and safety-critical pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a Unified Perception Layer to transition from fragmented models to a modular platform
• Own end-to-end latency and reliability for safety-critical pipelines, optimizing messaging and backpressure
• Develop evaluation frameworks for rare safety events, defining metrics for principled decision-making

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in ML Engineering with a proven track record in production models, preferably in safety-critical domains
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, performance profiling, and computer vision
• Experience with Cloud ML workflows (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization technologies
• Architectural mindset with the ability to design systems considering model complexity and operational reliability
• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a quantitative discipline is preferred
