Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

As a Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer, the full-time remote position will drive the design, development, and deployment of machine learning systems that enhance search experiences across Atlassian's product suite, including Jira and Confluence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable search serving infrastructure, ensuring high availability and low latency
• Build and maintain production ML models, integrating them into serving infrastructure for reliability and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and mentor junior engineers in best practices

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in machine learning model development and deployment
• Strong knowledge of search infrastructure and retrieval systems
• Experience with frameworks such as Triton and PyTorch
• Background in observability and incident response for production systems
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams
