Senior Machine Learning Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of machine learning engineers, the full-time Senior Machine Learning Manager will guide career development, manage experiments to improve model performance, and set strategic direction in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team by mentoring engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, and fostering a positive work environment
• Manage a portfolio of experiments, making informed decisions on resource allocation and evaluating performance outcomes
• Collaborate with Risk partners to ensure model performance meets commitments and represent team results to broader audiences

Required qualifications

• 5+ years in machine learning, data science, or related software engineering, with at least 3 years in people management
• Depth in engineering and applied statistics, with the ability to engage technically with team projects
• Proven experience leading under uncertainty and adapting direction based on evidence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation and decision-making
