Job Summary

To support the financial services industry, the remote contract Senior Mainframe Developer will design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe platforms, focusing on high-volume transaction processing systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe platforms
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to deliver scalable, reliable solutions and troubleshoot production issues
  • Participate in code reviews and support modernization initiatives while maintaining critical legacy systems
Required qualifications
  • 8+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale production applications
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
