Senior Mainframe Engineer

Job Summary

To support enterprise banking applications, the remote contract Senior Mainframe Engineer will troubleshoot programming defects, maintain core banking systems built on COBOL technologies, and provide production support while participating in a rotating on-call schedule for overnight batch processing.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and fix programming defects in enterprise banking applications
• Support nightly batch processing and maintain core banking systems
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for overnight batch support

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in mainframe programming/support
• Strong experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
• Hands-on experience with FIS/Systematics core banking applications is highly preferred
• Proven analytical and debugging skills
• Ability to provide production and lower-environment support
