Senior Mainframe Engineer

Job Summary

To support enterprise banking applications, the remote contract Senior Mainframe Engineer will troubleshoot programming defects, maintain core banking systems built on COBOL technologies, and provide production support while participating in a rotational on-call schedule for overnight batch processing.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and fix programming defects in COBOL mainframe applications
• Support nightly batch processing and maintain core banking systems
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for overnight support

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mainframe support
• Strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
• Experience with FIS/Systematics core banking applications is highly preferred
• Proven analytical and debugging skills
• Ability to provide production and lower-environment support
