Senior Mainframe Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Mainframe Batch Operations Engineer will manage and provide technical support for Mainframe Production Control and batch operations using JobTrac R11, while optimizing production batch workloads and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and provide technical support for Mainframe Production Control and batch operations using Computer Associates JobTrac R11
- Schedule, modify, submit, and monitor daily production mainframe jobs, ensuring critical workloads complete within required SLAs
- Analyze batch execution issues and optimize production batch schedules to improve operational efficiency
Required qualifications
- 14+ years of mainframe, production control, and batch operations experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Computer Associates JobTrac R11
- Proficiency in JCL development, analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Experience with z/OS, COBOL, IMS, and CICS
- Familiarity with batch scheduling, monitoring, and production control procedures
