Senior Mainframe Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Sr. Software Engineer (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and IT personnel to analyze system requests and develop specifications for new system projects or maintenance of existing applications
• Prepare unit and integration test plans, conduct testing, and document findings for problem resolution
• Serve as a Project Lead for smaller projects, mentor less experienced engineers, and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in system development and support for mainframe-based applications
• Recent and proficient Assembler coding experience is required
• Mastery of mainframe development tools such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS
• Experience with systems development life cycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
