Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer
Job Summary
Ensuring resilient and scalable z/OS storage environments, the full-time Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer will provide day-to-day administration, 7x24 on-call support, and capacity planning for zSeries storage while working remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and support the zSeries storage environment, addressing production issues and monitoring capacity
- Utilize AI tools to analyze data, implement solutions, and coordinate changes to the mainframe storage environment
- Collaborate with zSeries applications and platform teams to troubleshoot complex problems impacting business functions
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with IBM DASD and IBM VTS technology
- 10+ years of experience managing and troubleshooting storage systems and various dataset types
- 10+ years of experience with IBM DFSMS, DFHSM, and DFDSS
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM GDPS/MGM environments
- Experience with configuring DS8k Storage Arrays and coding SMS ACS Routines
