Senior Mainframe Support Engineer

Job Summary

Providing deep technical expertise in customer-facing environments, the full-time Senior Mainframe Observability & Diagnostics Engineer will troubleshoot complex mainframe-related issues, lead advanced diagnostics, and support workshops and enablement sessions remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Act as escalation owner for complex, high-impact customer issues involving Dynatrace for z/OS
• Lead advanced troubleshooting across CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ, and z/OS infrastructure
• Provide consultative guidance on mainframe architecture, deployment patterns, and performance optimization

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting IBM z/OS in production environments
• Strong working knowledge of CICS or IMS, including configuration and transactions
• Proficiency with JCL, ISPF, SDSF, and core z/OS operational tooling
• Working knowledge of DB2 for z/OS and MQ
• Demonstrated ability to capture, interpret, and analyze dumps, traces, and diagnostic artifacts
